it was my 1st day [at work] and I had a great day. I especially enjoyed the bicycle ride back as the sun was just starting to go down.

photo by Mike Ambs - I’d say it’s been a good 10 years, but I finally spent some quality time under the xmas tree with erica hampton * I remember having a lot more room under there to explore :P
our xmas tree from outside the front window :) I have yet to lay down with my head underneath the branches, but it’s very high on my to-do list *nods*
sometimes when I’m doing motion tracking or image stabilizing in FCP7, I use a sticky note on the screen to help me better position an object :)
photo by Mike Ambs - this devil dog keeps throwing puppy eyes my way in hopes of more left over ham scraps. careful what you wish for, my little bloated nightmare. *sigh* guess who’s going to be waking up at 3 in the morning to take maeby outside… damn.
after dumping all my hair-brained ideas on @zadi today at work, I felt this fortune cookie was fairly appropriate [at my own expense] :P
just finished recording and packaging a 52 hz mixtape. this tape marks the first official use of a unique mix ID or #hashtag, in this case: #52hz28; I’ll be retroactively assigning IDs to each of the earlier 40 mixes, and, of course, each mix going forward will be trackable by its own special hashtag :)
this isn’t what it looks like. photo by @erica hampton *
aside from the aforementioned beach of dead-fish, the view of the lake itself with the mountains and the fire-sunset made for an amazing view.
photo by Mike Ambs - in 1999 this tilapia, along with 7.9 million others, died and washed up onto the shores of the salton sea… the would-be beaches are covered / made-up-of these little skeletons. it’s literally *just* crushed dead fish instead of sand… and it smells wonderful.
photo by Mike Ambs - view facing the other direction from the same overlook. when there’s no cars coming or going down hwy 78 it’s *completely* quiet out here :)
really glad @funshine and I spent the night here in julian - beautiful morning outside. all packed up and back on the road to the salton sea!
watching the sun set near lake cuyamaca with @funshine - still racing towards the salton sea while we have light left.
