I love my holga, it’s so unpredictably predictable. Once upon a time I switched the frame number to 16 without installing the adapter, because of course I would rather get 16 images out of a roll instead of 12! What happens when you do that is each frame overlaps on the next frame and so on…creating this continuous image. At first I was irritated, but I’ve come to really like shooting the wrong way.
I get to pick and choose how I cut the negative, what I think makes a good image. Most of what I cut and crop creates unconventional sizes and strange diptychs and triptychs.
There’s something nice in the unpredictability.
