– via stfu, believers - 69% of Americans Believe in an Afterlife
For a while now I’ve wanted to write something about my thoughts on an afterlife, I suppose it’s a strange subject to simply jump into, so, this might be as good an opportunity as any.
I don’t believe in an afterlife;...

From Sept 2010 to Sept 2011 I recorded nearly everything in my day-to-day life. Each week I took that footage and released a :49 second long video comprised of 7 individual clips, each clip being 7 seconds long.
The above video is the entire year’s worth of those 7x7s trimmed down to 1 second per shot for 365 shots. If you’d like to watch the original 7x7s you can find them all here...

Government Good: GPS

In late 1983 the Soviet Union shot down a Korean Airlines 747 over the North Pacific Ocean. Through a series of errors both human and machine, compounding one another, commercial jetliner had strayed off its course while flying from Anchorage, Alaska to Seoul, South Korea. This was at the height of the cold war, and the Soviet Union shot down the jet, claiming that...

Blaming Unions for pushing Corporations into a corner, into a situation where they were helpless but to flee the Country is a joke.

they must have read my mind, I was just looking for copyright-free music sources for films… vimeo is rocking it.
As many of you know, finding music for your videos can be somewhat… well, painful. Licensing music on your own can be confusing and finding good free music can take forever. Many of us here at Vimeo are video creators or filmmakers as well and we experience these...

I feel like I’m missing something: can someone explain why Canon’s $1,500 HF G10 has an effective pixel spec of approx. 2.07-megapixels at 1920 x 1080, and the $900 HF S200 has an effective pixel spec of approx. 6.01 Megapixels at 3264 x 1840? Actually, from what I saw while poking around, it seemed that the HF G10 is the only camera with a 2.07 megapixel spec, all the other HD Canon...

1 in 5 Americans? … honestly, I might have guessed that number to be higher, hell, 20% of Americans think Obama is a Marxist-Nazi sleeper cell; speaking of which, I’d be curious to see the numbers on that overlap.

I’m going to sit down and create a new draft of the script - my current print is so overwhelmed with sticky notes and scribbles in the margins that it’s just not efficient to work off of. It should take me a day or two to make sense of everything we’ve written in the last four months and work it into the script - and from there I’ll feel more confident about my editing...

Question: I’ve been trying to figure out what I should after posting this week’s 7x7; I promised myself that I would try it for a year and, as of this week, it has been exactly 52 weeks!
But now what? I know myself well enough to know that I won’t stop hitting record during all hours of the day - I still on average record around 4 hours of iPhone footage each month - so, how do...

Photographers: Know Your Rights →

The ACLU’s published a photographer’s cheat sheet on their rights when shooting in the field (US only):
When in public spaces where you are lawfully present you have the right to photograph anything that is in plain view.
When you are on private property, the property owner may set rules about the taking of photographs.
Police officers may not generally...
