TV is Dead. Long Live Web Video. →
via zadi: There is so much WIN in this article. …But Web video isn’t television. It’s something else entirely. And in the past 5 years, from 2005 to 2010, as Web video has moved to become the fastest growing and most prevalent form of traffic emerging on the Web, something else happened. Web video abandoned TV. It moved on. …The broadcasters and cable companies that have for decades been able...

Open Letter to Web Show Creators
rafimama: The blip.tv LA Housewarming party last night was an absolutely incredible time and I am so thankful to all who were able to come and share that with us.  I had a giant grin on my face the entire night, and I couldn’t shake it.  I didn’t want to.   While the overwhelming sense of joy i carried throughout the night was partly due to the celebration blip.tv’s expansion to the west coast,...

via ftomfilm: It’s been such a long, long time since we’ve been able to reach out to new people in ways that haven’t been 99% online, so I wanted to do a video update talking about how exciting this whole experience was!

via New Mediacracy The backstory: Barrett had delivered his WebTVWorkshop tip of the day video back in May, which got picked up last week by others in the web show world. That led to a passionate discussion on Twitter with quite a few participants. There was a follow-up Tumblr post by Barrett that led to numerous replies. David Nett put forth his thoughts on Facebook, which also had a lively...

via ftomfilm: I’m somewhere in Colorado - watching out the train windows with dry eyes, the sleepless nights and constant AC hasn’t been treating me well, although the sunrise this morning was worth all the tossing and turning the last two nights.  I just watched a lone bright-silver birthday ballon floating slowly-along ten feet above the ground, and seeing as how I’m hundreds of miles away...

My brother posted this to my facebook wall earlier today and I was just able to sit down and watch it tonight - please do not be deterred by the 10 minute length of this video, it pulls you in very quickly and the animation and the ideas move along so quickly that it never feels *too* long.  I very much loved the parts of this video + speech that dealt with empathy being tied to...

Dear Coke Talk: On trying long distance. →
It’s an unnatural thing to maintain burning desire at a distance. You’ve gotta be an emotional athlete to handle the highs and lows. It requires a heart that’s pure and strong, and brother, I don’t think you’re in shape for it. I’d wish you good luck, but it’d be wasted on your weak-ass shit. Long distance is for hardcore motherfuckers on fire. Consider Erica and I official...

As of about 10 hours ago a brand-new, bulky satellite dish was installed behind Erica’s Grandmother’s house - we were excited because we’ve been in an area that a) cannot get cable-internet, b) cannot get a 3g EVDO connection, c) cannot get DSL… so yea, satellite was the *only* option. It was very last-resort for Erica.  About 45 minutes into using the internet it stopped...
