December 30th is the last day Kodachrome film will ever be processed on planet Earth. Dwayne’s Photo Studio is the only place where Kodachrome films are processed and just has enough chemicals for one more week of processing.
I always feel a little sad when awesome things cease to exist.

When I was reading this article on Ruth - I couldn’t help but think that in a few years I’ll be watching her give a talk at TED about the importance of art at a young age :)
FLY Children’s Art Center is applying for the $10,000 sponsorship from a Ford Global Drive initiative. I trimmed down the above interview to a two-minute edit, Erica helped submit it to...

Americans, for some odd reason, are insistent that they are very religious. But Americans are lying. Despite 42 percent of Americans claiming to attend weekly religion services, only 21 percent actually do. In fact, Americans are not any more religious than any other industrialized country. Or, at least, not any more practicing.

via Epic FU blog
As of February 1, 2011, we’re going to make our Facebook page the center of the Epic Fu community. MIX will be archived, and we will turn off our Ning account (the commercial platform powering the site). This means that after February 1, the MIX site will not be accessible.

via The 2010 census and what it means to Michigan
The results of the 2010 Census were made public today. Among other things, it was revealed that the U.S. population grew 9.7% over the course of the past decade, which is the slowest rate of growth since the Great Depression. That, of course, is an average, and some states did better than others. While several states barely grew at all, only...

1) Watching out the front windows as it downpours for the 4th straight day in Los Angeles, I have never seen anything like it in the 6 years I’ve lived here. 2) Going over 64 Days parts 5 - 8 with Amanda. 3) Testing out the giant, giant loop train-track that Xander and I made. 4) Watching the wave-tank at the Long Beach Aquarium. 5) On a hike with Erica and Xander at Runyon Canyon Park -...

In reaction to a comment by Blake Calhoun on the post by Barrett Garese titled On the topic of my worldview, or why I have and will continue to support Wikileaks :
Barrett, as usual very well written and thought provoking, however as you might guess, I feel you’re misguided.
Your entire thesis really hinges on the idea that you consider WikiLeaks a journalistic outfit… but it...

Was It Google And Verizon Or The FCC That Just... →
via kenyatta:
While that may read like it’s a statement from Google or Verizon — actually, the entire section reads a lot like their joint proposal — it’s actually the FCC’s statement. Yes, that’s the FCC citing Android’s openness as a reason why they don’t need to impose net neutrality rules for mobile broadband.
Except wait. What the hell does an open operating system have anything to do...

Dearest FCC,
via fuckyoufcc.com
You have sold-out. You have white-washed Net Neutrality at the request of Verizon and AT&T. In siding with the powerful at the expense of the American people, you deserve no respect. This fight is not finished. In closing, while it can still be said without additional tiered charges: fuck you.
Signed,

I asked Erica who her favorite photographer was and she replied with a handful of photographs instead. I liked that *
