– via USATODAY.com Can I just say… that I think it’s hilarious we announced Karen Abad working with us on FToM in a USA Today article. I feel like we actually have a press agent :P

Introducing 1080p playback and AVCHD support! →
clintus: Woah it’s been a big month for new stuff! At the beginning of 2010 we rolled out Plus mobile support, and kicked off a new HTML5 beta just last week. Today we’re announcing two more options for… Vimeo is the win. YouTube may be bigger, may also have 1080p… but I’ve never found more inspiration from one central place in all my years of looking. I’m just saying.

In May, Amanda and I will be traveling to Northern California - we’ll be doing this to film scenes with Larry that are from the perspective of both coming home and (then later in the film) prepping for his next 16,000 mile adventure. We’ve always known that we would need additional help with these scenes - unlike the strictly documentary part of For Thousands of Miles, these will be...

The vgkids.com were cool enough to let me come by and film them making the film’s new t-shirts.  I had no idea the machines they use to print shirts were so awesome - the way it drops and spins around is kinda’ hypnotizing :P I think I shot way, way more footage of their machine than anything else.  The tees are 100% organic cotton unisex alternate apparel shirts :) and all the profits...

On the 24th, Erica, Jami and I went on a photo adventure in Detroit. While on our way to an empty house on Parkview, we passed the old Lafayette building and saw it was in the middle of being demolished.  It’s sad to see a building like this go to such waste thanks to mismanagement and a short-sighted city counsel. Apparently there’s plans to turn it into a small park…  Watching...

10 Things To Do Before You Submit A Script →
1) Cut at least another 10% of the script. Even when you think you are finished, there’s always another 10% that can come out. 2) Clarify what you feel the themes are and how they evolve during the course of the narrative. 3) Figure out some of the ways that the story can be expanded onto other platforms. 4) Know what the historical precedents are for your story and how you differ from them in...

The Kickstarter Awards (Cont)
via kickstarter: Earlier this week we asked some Kickstarter Award winners to answer two questions: 1. What’s your favorite Kickstarter experience so far? This could be something that happened as part of your project, a particularly cool exchange you had with another project, whatever you want. 2. What’s your favorite Kickstarter project(s)? And if you’d rather swap in another adjective for...

I realized earlier today, while cleaning out the more than 1.7 Tbs of iMovie footage (spread across 3 separate drives), that when I made this Jellyfish video back in Sept of 2008, I had forgot to also make a video with the rest of footage I took when Erica and I spent a day at the Long Beach Aquarium.  So I put something quick together :)

Best in Show
via kickstarter: For the past week we’ve been counting down the best projects, updates, and moments in Kickstarter’s 2009. We highlighted projects according to various metrics, some hard-to-categorize standouts, and sentimental favorites. We’ve really been blessed with an abundance of riches to share. In the final edition of our inaugural Kickstarter Awards, we’re unveiling the big prizes: Best...
